Mr. Odd and Ms. Odd

Everyone who has spent 5 or more years in school must have stumbled across at least one teacher who for whatever reason made his or her students feel as though it was impossible to pass. Teachers generally want their students to pass, but this “rare” teacher’s crowning glory and joy was Strange! This “rare” teacher made it his or her determined business to ensure that the students in his or her care had a mighty hard time passing that particular subject.

Take for example, if u were to take a random name and give our “odd” teachers the names Mr.Odd and Ms.Odd:

I can tell you that Mr.Odd would come to class with trick questions that have no definite answers!

I can tell you that Ms. Odd would keep threatening her students by telling them that her exams are very hard and that the pass rate for her class is below 2%!

I can tell you that Mr. Odd would teach a number of topics and pretend they are coming for your final exam, but lo and behold topics that were never taught show up!

I can tell you that Ms. Odd would come to class and pretend she is cool and hardly teach anything and tell you she has your back and that her class is easy, but at the end of your period of taking her classes she has no desire to help you understand a crucial concept that can determine whether you pass or fail!

I can tell you that Mr. Odd would spend entire classes gossiping about everything, but has no time to mark your work or show you where you went wrong in your homework assignments!

I can tell you that Ms. Odd is sarcastic, rude and demeaning – she never misses an opportunity to embarass her students and to verbally dig into their shortcomings!

In stark contrast to Mr. Odd and Ms. Odd, God is one teacher we can count on to always have our backs! God is not willing that any of us should fail His Final Examination! We know that the Final Examination is coming and God wants us to pass. He has already done it for us! That is why He says “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:20 – we have access to heaven right this very minute once we accept His Grace, His Law and make Him our Teacher.

Just in case you were second-guessing the integrity or the ability of God, here are some texts that give solid evidence that God wants you to be saved:

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” – Luke 12:32

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” – Matthew 25:41 (the key here is that everlasting fire is not for is it was prepared specifically for the devil and his angels – to get into hell we have to choose to go there!)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” – John 3:17

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” – Hebrews 4:14-15

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord.” – Isaiah 54:17

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13

“It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him , He also will deny us: If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:11-13

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” – Jeremiah 29:11

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” – Revelation 22:12

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” – John 14:26

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” – Romans 8:26

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” – Psalm 27:10

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.” – Psalm 68:5

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.” – John 16:13

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” – 1 John 2:1-2

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” – 1 Corinthians 2:9

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” – Ephesians 3:17-21
