According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary all means:
the whole amount, quantity, or extent of.
Mathematicians tell us “ALL” means 100% !!!
For certain Paul knew what “ALL” meant when he wrote Ephesians Chapter 4:30-31.
Ephesians 4;30-31 states:
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Did Paul know what he was saying? Yes, he did. We might be quick to say “no whoremonger no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater will enter the kingdom of God.” For we might remember that Paul said in Ephesians 5:3-5:
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Some are quick to emphasize Ephesians 5:3-5 – for we are certain that these are wrong act and part of an immoral satanic lifestyle.
However, Paul did not only write Ephesians 5:3-5, he also wrote Ephesians 4:30-31 where he indicated:
“Let ALL bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with ALL malice: “
What a message!
What a message!
Why this message is so important is that the same power of the work “ALL” in Ephesians 5:3-5 is the same power in the work ‘ALL” as it relates to bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, evil speaking and mailce.
There is no slap on the wrist for evil speakers. There is no pat on the back for malice keepers and there is no decreased importance when it comes to wrath, anger and clamour.
The power of the word “ALL” is constant. ALL always means ALL. Saul tried to pretend that he didn’t know what “ALL” meant in 1 Samuel 15. But we ALL know that ALL means ALL.
