Evil thinking is what we might want to define as deciding upon a situation and drawing conclusions in our minds although there is an absence of authentic evidence. This “evil thinking” status has the potential to destroy relationships, wreck surprises, pollute minds, and retard progress. Without evidence there is a tendency for many minds to start crawling through the gutter down into the sewer to end up residing with sewage. This is one of my major reasons for staying far from soap operas – because I have seen the way in which the storyline of soap operas concentrates on massaging one’s mind into “thinking up” then “assuming” then before we know it we have our Bachelors, Masters and PhD in “evil thinking”

Evil thinking is definirely not a beneficial way to spend the limited moments and precious time we have on this earth as humans. There are so many fun things and fun activities we can do to bless the lives of others and to keep our mind from dribbling and consuming negativism. When you wake up in the morning and see the sunrise even as your hands and feet are radiating with arthritis – you have something to be happy and positive about! When your employer tells you, you are no longer needed so pack up your things and leave the company immediately – but you are still able to read the fine print on the back of items in your local supermarket – you have much to be thankful for! If you had to make an abrupt stop with your new car that caused an accident – yet you are still alive and there are no casualties – skip the temptation to censor yourself and bark at others and just give God some praise!

Today our challenge is to introspect and personally assess ourselves – are we being too critical? Are we wasting precious years thinking evil? Are we fermenting our creative juices in a concoction of negativism? As the cryptic words of Paul continue to challenge those who hear them – today we say: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
