What Is There To Rejoice About ?

As I grappled with the crystal clear truths presented in this excerpt of Jeremiah’s book I had to keep my mouth ajar – it is as though Jeremiah was talking about “2018 Live in Concert!” Today we see the identical situations occuring and many are asking “Why are good things being withheld from me?”

What Is There To Rejoice About ?

Jeremiah 5:23-31 states:

[23]But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

[24]Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

[25]Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

[26]For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

[27]As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

[28]They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

[29]Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
[30]A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;

[31]The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

“What Is There To Rejoice About ?”

1. Our God is not a fake god who lies to us for us to feel good – God will call us out about our conditions/situations so we can allow Him to transform our revolting and rebellious hearts.

2. Our God is precise He knows every thought we think, every motive we have and every action we do and is fully aware as to whether we love Him or hate Him.

3. Jehovah is straightforward with us – if He says to us: “Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you” then we know we need to do a personal inventory and ask Him to help us repent of our sins and choose His ways – ways of righteousness.

4. Jehovah is actively observing wicked people who: lay wait, set up snares and traps and catch men.

5. God is fully aware of those whose houses are full of deceit and those who have used deceit to become great and rich by earth’s standards.

6. God is fully aware of those who overpass [overtake] “the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.”

7. Jehovah is just and fair – He will deal with all oppressors and wicked people when He visits – but He gives warnings and opportunities for us to change before He takes action.

8. Jehovah is observing each continent, each island, each community and each individual to see on whose side we will take our stand – whether we would stand for Truth and Righteousness or for Lies and Wickedness.

9. Even today through the promptings of the Holy Spirit, God and Jesus Christ reveal to us the prophets, priests, pastors and clergy that talk lies. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are fully aware that some people love to have lies told to them and that some people love to see oppression flourish.

We can rejoice because God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit have given us hope and the fulfillment of that hope!

Isaiah 61:1-2

[1]The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

[2]To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

Today let this be our mission and our rejoicing:
– To preach good tidings unto the meek;
– To bind up the brokenhearted,
– To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
– To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
