Immediate Praise – July 2015

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. – Isaiah 40:31 KJV

Nature is packed with numerous examples of excellence! Eagles are known for their great strength, but, Ostriches are also celebrities with “Olympic” world records! The Ostrich can run at speeds of about 97 km/h (60 mph), making it the fastest bird on earth!

Similarly, I can not help but imagine he rapid speed and excitement of the two men who were travelling to Emmaus to Jerusalem in Luke 24:13. They had the experience of a lifetime as they listened to breath-taking truths being revealed to them live, by a man they did not recognise at first to be the very One they were talking about!

The two men in Luke 24:32-34 confessed: “Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” [33] And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, [34] Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. To race back on foot over 7.5 miles of dusty roads – screams Immediate Praise! These men were so thankful that Jesus was alive and well. They scrambled over the hills and through the valleys to share this Breaking News – they had seen and spent time with Jesus Christ – the ressurected Savior of the world!

Joining these two men, I too with “Ostrich-like” speed, type this post to thank Jesus Christ this July 2015 – giving Him Immediate Praise for:
