The Power of the Correct Interpretation

Today I came across these two verses of scripture – Daniel 2:46 and Daniel 2:47 and was amazed to see what they said. From the NIV they read: 46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him. 47 The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.”

Now what sparked such excitement about these texts is the fact that the story before indicates that Nebuchadnezzar (who would be maybe equated to the posts of maybe President Barack Obama, Prime Minister David Cameron or even the Queen of England for that matter) had a dream which disturbed him so much he started ordered the execution of his entire congress/parliament/advisors because they has failed to tell him what his dream was and the interpretation of it. The crazy thing was that Nebuchadnezzar could not remember his own dream and in an effort to regain it he was now being able to prove the deception and powerlessness of his advisors for they were unable to tell him what his dream was.

My reason for rejoicing today is that in the midst of that mighty kingdom of Babylon there was a man whose name was Daniel who was connected to the Most High God on such a deep level he was willing to trust God to the uttermost and pray about the dilemma and so God rewarded Daniel with a vision that gave him the correct dream and the correct interpretation. This is truly the power of being connected to the only true God. Daniel’s experience enhanced the spiritual experience of King Nebuchadnezzar and caused him to realize and confirm what he had already suspected – the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans were all receiving fake information from Satan. The real power of correct interpretation lies in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit – and for this I rejoice and give God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit total praise and honor and glory today.
